Does Your Business Have a Cybersecurity Weak Spot?

Does Your Business Have a Cybersecurity Weak Spot?

26% of IT professionals believe that they could currently be undergoing a breach without even knowing it. This is according to Bitdefender’s recent Hacked Off! report which looked at the weaknesses, stress points and strategy when it comes to cybersecurity in organisations. The weak spots revealed are particularly interesting because it highlights the areas which are most vulnerable for organisations as well as the things that are keeping IT professionals up at night – unsurprisingly, there were quite a few.

The biggest threats

Despite 57% of IT professionals rating their cybersecurity as very good or excellent, almost a quarter of organisations have already suffered a breach in 2019 so far. The biggest threat was believed to be a phishing or whaling attack (36%) followed by Trojans (29%) and Ransomware (28%). The two most significant impacts that are feared should an organisation be breached are business interruptions (43%) and reputational damage (38%), but what exactly does this mean for organisations?

While cybersecurity is good within most organisations, threats are very real and more can and should be done to protect them. The consequences aren’t just names strewn across the front pages of newspapers, but the risk of losing revenue and potentially even being put out of business.

Finding a suitable solution

Ultimately, organisations need to do more. One of the biggest learnings from the research is that traditional security just isn’t sufficient enough to detect and prevent modern-day threats and a combination of skills and tools are needed. This is why there is such an emphasis on next-generation EDR solutions such as Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra. Whatsmore, to fight threats, security systems have to be seamless and easy to operate, something that legacy systems aren’t.

This is why Bitdefender has developed over 30 layers of protection for all endpoints, offering the world’s most effective protection integrated with low overhead EDR and Endpoint Risk Analytics (ERA) in a single agent, single console architecture.
