In its Consumer Summary Report 2022, the renowned Austrian antivirus testing lab AV-Comparatives gave Bitdefender the coveted Product of the Year title for the fifth time, more times than any other vendor in the previous ten years.
The top consumer security products on the market are covered in AV-Comparatives' yearly report, with a focus on those that demonstrate strong protection against a variety of threats. 17 consumer protection systems were subjected to extensive testing by AV-Comparatives to determine how well they defend against new malware, sophisticated targeted attacks, and real-world Internet threats while without taxing the PC's system resources.
In numerous tests created for situations involving home use, Bitdefender continuously received the highest ADVANCED+ rating. In addition to receiving the top overall score in the tests this year, Bitdefender has now taken home the prize five times, more than any other vendor in the previous ten years.
High Standards
Bitdefender Internet Security, a security suite for Windows PCs created to shield users against malware, phishing, dangerous websites, and other threats, was the consumer product that was reviewed. For instance, Bitdefender Internet Security won the top spot in AV-Comp's Advanced Threat Protection Test (ATP) for its outstanding performance in a variety of targeted attack scenarios, including social engineering, malware, and pure harmful code injected straight into memory (fileless attacks).
“A good burglar alarm should go off when somebody breaks into your house, not wait until they start stealing things,” the test lab commented at the time. The highest attainable score, ADVANCED+, was proudly accepted by Bitdefender for identifying and thwarting the great majority of threats before or after they were executed with no false alarms.
